We Know Where We
Come From

Having started in the Central African Republic, a country with a difficult recent history, we are committed to invest in empowering and sustainable projects that boost local economies. Our objective is to decrease the reliance of the countries where we operate on international providers that do not seek to stay on the long term. At Via Air we like to think that by choosing us, you choose to invest directly in the development of the countries where we operate.

Committed to a Sustainable Economic Development

Via Air’s responsible investments in the region notably includes the:

  • Opening up of difficult-to-access localities by constructing runways (Rafai 2021, Zemio, 2020, Ndele 2019, Obo 2018, Ouanda Djallé 2018/7, Ouada 2017).
  • Setting up scheduled internal lines for the first time in a decade in the Central African Republic.
  • Introducing accredited training for national airport staff.
  • Investments in key airport infrastructures.

Committed to Peace and Social Inclusion

Examples of Via Air’s recent charitable actions include:

  • Hundreds of free seats offered every years, in partnership with our clients, to help remote communities access critical medical care and higher education.
  • Organization of charitable events to introduce aviation to Bangui-based displaced children.
  • Financing of sport and cultural events to promote social inclusion and civic values.

Committed to Promoting Good Practices

As a service provider that works in some of the world’s most fragile states, for leading humanitarian and peacekeeping organizations, we make it a priority to mitigate risks associated to conducting air operations in such environments. We have introduced robust security protocols, for both our crew and passengers, in order to mitigate trafficking risks. We are also committed to respect the values of the UN Global Compact, of which we are a signatory. Our goal is to insure that our clients and our staff are both protected from bad practices and bring added value to the countries where we operate.
